Where Our Electricity Comes From: 100 % Certified Green Electricity

ORGANOID produziert klimaneutral – ORGANOID Naturoberflächen

Electricity is the item a manufacturer has the most direct control over. Ours comes entirely from certified green electricity — and that can be looked up, not just claimed.

What exactly is certified

Our electricity is supplied by Ökoenergie Tirol GmbH. Their products carry the Austrian Ecolabel „UZ46 Green Electricity“, set by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.

That is the difference from a self-awarded badge: behind UZ46 there is a publicly available set of criteria laid down by a public authority. The certificate is in our download area.

What it covers — and what it does not

The certificate concerns the electricity purchased for our site. It says nothing about heat, transport or upstream suppliers. That is why we write „100 % certified green electricity“ and not „100 % renewable energy“ — a small difference in wording and a large one in substance.

Where the surfaces are made

Production is in Fließ, Tyrol, in the upper Inn valley. The natural raw materials come largely from the region: alpine hay from Tyrolean meadows, flax fleece from residual materials of flax processing. Short distances here are not a programme — they follow from where we are.

What that means in figures is set out in our Environmental Product Declaration — we have broken it down here.
